NCC

N.C.C. is a unique organization of our mother country, India. NCC stands for National Cadet Corps. The main motto of NCC is Unity and Discipline, and it aims at motivating cadets to join the unbeatable Indian Navy & the Indian Air force. The national cadet corps of India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high school, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The cadets have no liability for active military service once the complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selection based on the achievements in the corps. It was established in1948 by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. It is a very big organization and plays a very important role in our country.

In our school the Naval wing of NCC was established in 1984 when Bro. Cyril was our school principal. Since then our school teacher D.K.Pandey sir has been our Associate NCC officer and has played a very important role in preparing the cadets. In the year 2013 Girl Cadets also joined NCC under Bro. Satish, the Principal Loyola High School.

NCC performs various activities such as awareness programme in the city, planting trees, social work such as blood donation, drive against polio, traffic management etc. The grand parade done by NCC cadets at Republic Day and Independence Day is an honour to watch. NCC also helps in other activities of school like the sports day, Annual Day and other cultural events.

Every year cadets are sent for CATC (combined annual training camp) where they learn more about NCC, Army, Navy and Airforce, their aims, firing skills etc. They also learn to be disciplined and survive in harsh conditions. The cadets who attend the CATC are given a camp certificate and are allowed to appear in the ‘A’ certificate exam of NCC. The students can rejoin NCC at +2 level for the ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate which is a three year course.

Many NCC cadets of our school are at very high ranks in the Indian Army, Navy, and the Airforce. In my view, NCC develops one’s personality and open the students’ mind and make them bolder and smarter.
